The First Day of 2nd and 4th Grades

Another summer has come and gone ~ time to start another school year!  Will is in 2nd grade and Thomas is in 4th grade.  Since our elementary only goes up to 3rd grade, Thomas will be on a different campus for the first time.  He's both nervous and excited!

Dad will be taking Thomas to school this year, so I wasn't able to get a picture of him with his teachers.
Will and his homeroom teacher Mrs. Bertrand.  She will be teaching math and science.
Will with his reading teacher, Mrs. Darden
This is my 15th year of teaching, and my 19th year in education.  My mom has sent me flowers every first day of school ~ they were just as beautiful this year as they always are!

Aladdin

We had a fun afternoon at the Lyric watching several of the boy's friends in a children's production of Aladdin.  Emily and Allie Haynes were 2 of our favorites!

Toothfairy Talk

My kids have never had any problems pulling their teeth.  In fact, they rarely have a loose tooth for very long ~ once they start wiggling they come out fast.  Well, Thomas lost 2 teeth in less than 5 days and wanted to keep them instead of the Toothfairy taking them.  I told him to write her and note and ask and this is what he typed up on the computer:

The next morning the tooth was still there, along with the usual 2 dollar bill.  I could tell Thomas was starting to be skeptical, and sure enough, later in the day he asked if the Toothfairy was real.  I decided to tell him the truth and he promised to keep the secret.  And of course, this conversation lead to asking about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.  Sigh.......  My oldest is getting old!

The 4 oldest cousins had a rough game of tackle beach football!

Will keeping a hand on Gussie Lou
It took SEVERAL attempts.........
But we finally got a fairly decent picture of all 11 cousins!
Big smiles from Thomas, Luke, Gray and Will

Beach Pictures

We spent the end of our summer vacation in Port Aransas with our Stewardson Family.  The beaches and water were beautiful!  I'm so glad we took the time to take family picture again this year!
