LTC 2015

Thomas participated in Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) this year.  A week before they go to competition in Dallas the boys lead the worship service at church.  Thomas read a scripture in front of the whole congregation and did a wonderful job!

On the road to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas (dad was already there).
Will posing by a huge propeller.
Thomas was excited and ready to read his scripture for the judges.
The puppet group ~ Thomas was the crocodile!

Thomas also competed in drama.  He did really well in all of his events!

Hunting Eggs at Grandmother and Granddaddy's

Will, Thomas, Evan and Cate stopped (not willingly!) to let me take a quick picture before they took off to hunt confetti eggs!
And they're off!!

Will started the egg cracking on Evan's head.
At first he tried to get away when Evan headed toward him......
But he stopped and let Evan return the favor!
I think they all 3 spotted some eggs at the same time!
Love this picture of Cate running with her hair flying!
Will got Grandmother
Cute kiddos!
These 4 "cousins by choice" always have a great time together!
Thanks to Grandmother and Granddaddy for another fun egg hunt!

St. Patrick's Day 2015

Another St. Patrick's Day ~ another picture of the boys in their shamrock headbands!  St. Patrick's Day happened to fall on a Tuesday, which is recycling day at the boy's school, so it was very appropriate for them to wear their Green Team shirts!

Paw Paw's Visit

Paw Paw surprised the kids and came to church on Sunday.  He's a pretty popular guy with his grandkids!

We went to lunch after church and Will stayed close to his youngest cousin!

Will's Collarbone ~ Follow-Ups

Will's recovery from his broken collarbone went really well!  He only had a faint bruise and it wasn't there very long.  He had to wear a sling all the time for about 3 weeks, and then just wore it to school and eventually only wore it to PE and Recess.  He was restricted from those activities, but it really didn't slow him down much!

 Check-up #1 ~ April 1st
The doctor said Will's collarbone was beginning to heal.  It will always be separated, but with time the bone will grow between the break and fuse it together.  No surgery or setting was done.

 Check-up #2 ~ April 23rd
This time it's easier to see the shadow looking part where the bone is beginning to grow between the break ~ it's healing nicely!

 Check-up #3 ~ May 13th
Our last appointment and X-rays.  Everything is healing right on schedule and Will was released for all activities except doing push-ups or hanging from the money bars!

Crested Butte 2015 ~ Will's Collarbone

This is the view from the top of the mountain on the last run of the last day.  Simply beautiful!  Dad was already back at the condo to get ready for a sleigh ride 10 year anniversary dinner.  The boys and mom were taking one more run with the group before calling it a day.

I was so proud of how well the boys were skiing.  I snapped this picture of Will on the left and Thomas on the right.  Next I started videoing them skiing and they were both doing great.  Then out of nowhere, Will fell and rolled over and over and over.  I was right behind him and could tell by the way he was really hurt.
A lady asked if we needed Ski Patrol and I said yes.  Our friend Stephen was skiing behind us and stopped to help.  We got Will on the ski patrol sled and they carried him down to the emergency clinic at the bottom of the mountain.  Thomas went with Stephen, I went to meet Will and called Sam to tell him to cancel our dinner reservations!
Will waiting for X-rays after the doctor did an exam of his shoulder ~

X-rays confirmed the doctor's prediction ~ a broken collarbone!

Dad helping Will out of the office ~ with some pain medication to hopefully keep him from hurting too bad!
Pretty pale.......
The Moores were so sweet ~ they brought him some brownies, which helped him feel better right away!  He had a pretty good night sleep.  Only woke up once for pain medication.  It was hard to get comfortable, though!
The trip home was long, but the first day Will took several naps.  I'm not sure if it's because of the medication or if he was truly exhausted!
The second day on the road was better ~ as you can see on Will's silly face!

Will is such a trooper!
Finally home ~ and we were welcomed with a get well cake and balloons from our friends the Haynes!  It was very sweet and thoughtful of them!
