Last Day of School 2013 - 2014

The 2013 - 2014 school year is officially over.  Will completed his Kindergarten year and Thomas his 2nd grade year.  We are so proud of the wonderful students these boys are!

May - Last day of school
At the awards assembly Thomas received a certificate for "Faithful Attendance".  This means he missed 3 or fewer days of school.
Thomas also received a citizenship award for good behavior this school year!

GG came to support Thomas
Granddaddy and Grandmother were there, too!
And don't forget Dad and Mom!
Thomas with is 2nd grade teacher Ms. Guthrie.  He had a great year and truly loved having her as a teacher!

At Will's awards assembly the kindergarteners preformed a dance to the song "Happy".  As you can see by the look on their faces, they truly were happy on the last day of school!
Will and Cate ~
GG couldn't miss Will's assembly!
And neither could Granddaddy and Grandmother!
Mom and Dad had to track Will down in his classroom to get a picture with him.
Will and his kindergarten teacher Mrs. Stewart.  This little boy learned and grew so much this year and a lot of the credit goes to Mrs. Stewart!

Will's Kindergarten Graduation

Well, our youngest is officially a Kindergarten Graduate!  Will looked so handsome and grown up in his cap and gown!
Will walked in and searched people's faces for someone he recognized........
That's the "I see Grandmother and Granddaddy" grin!
And that's the "I saw GG and Mom" grin!
He looks a little nervous..........

2nd Grade Math Wizard

Thomas was one of the top math students in his homeroom this year.  He competed against 25 other students in answering addition and subtraction problems using flash cards.  The event was held in the school library and the kids had to compete in front of all of the other 2nd graders as well as parents and other visitors.  Thomas did a great job and we are so proud of him!
(I made several videos but am not able to post them!)

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day this year school was in session due to a makeup bad weather day.  However, Sam took the boys to a memorial service at Eastlawn Cemetery to honor past members of our armed forces.  The boy's great grandfather Ronald Gray was a member of the US Army's Air Corps during World War II.

Goldie's BIRTH-day!!

Everyone was anxiously waiting to meet the newest Stegemoller baby and when Hilary texted me at school at 10:00 and said it wouldn't be much longer, I grabbed the boys and we went straight to the hospital!  We arrived just in time to hear the baby's first cries!
Paw Paw sharing the news that the baby had arrived, but no one knew if it was a boy or a girl.
I put Thomas in charge of my phone so he could take a video of Josh when he came out to introduce the baby.  Thomas takes his job very seriously!
The hallway was crowded with anxious friend and family.
Everyone got excited when the door opened……  but it was just the doctor.
Finally, proud dad Josh brought out our newest NIECE!
Introducing Anne Marigold "Goldie" Stegemoller!!!
Paw Paw and Melinda got the first peek at Goldie.
Josh's mom Roberta couldn't wait to hold her.
Thomas was still taking pictures, while Will couldn't stop smiling.  He sure does love babies!

I love this picture of everyone gathered around to peek at Goldie's hair.

I think Goldie was ready to be back in her mommy's arms for a little bit.
Uncle Sam can't wait to help spoil his newest niece!
Such a sweet baby!
It wasn't easy to get this picture ~ the boys weren't too sure about getting too close to Goldie, but they'll warm up soon!
GG came by later in the afternoon to meet her 11th great-grandchild.  I think these two are going to get along great!
