Will's Boo Boo

Will was walking across my bed to pull the chain to turn off the ceiling fan. He turned off the fan and kept walking ~ but that was at the end of the bed! He fell face first onto our hardwood floors. Poor kid ~ Maybe he'll listen to mom next time and NOT WALK ON MY BED!!

OKC National Memorial

Our family traveled to Oklahoma City and while we were there we visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial.  It was a very somber experience.

The Gates of Time are found at each end of the Reflecting Pool.  The East Gate is stamped with the time of 9:01 to represent the innocence of the city before the attack.   The West Gate is stamped with the time of 9:03 to represent the moment we were changed forever.
This is one of the only walls from the original Murrah Building.

The Field of Empty Chairs consists of 168 chairs to symbolize the lives lost, with smaller chairs representing the 19 children lost.  They are arranged in nine rows, one for each of the nine floors of the building and are placed according to the floor on which those who killed were working or visiting.
The Survivor Tree is a 90 year old American Elm that survived the bombing and is still growing strong today.

The boys standing by the wall surround the Survivor Tree.  The West Gate is seen in the back ground.

The Children's Area consists of a wall of hand painted tiles sent to OKC in 1995 from children around the state and country.

4th of July 2012

We had a fun afternoon at the lake with Josh, Hilary, Gus, Fritz, Codie, Angie, Cate and Evan.  This is an attempt at getting a group picture of the kiddos.  Fritz even made an appearance in the last picture!
Will, Thomas and Cate ~ Ready to set sail!
Evan is such a good sport getting a smooch from his big sister Cate ~
Thomas decided to smooch his little brother, too!
Now that's a boat load of cute kids!
Thomas was a great co-captain.  He loves helping his daddy drive the boat.
Will was content to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Love this sweet look on Evan's face!
Letting the wind blow through their hair!

There wasn't a burn ban this year so Cate, Will and Thomas were able to light sparklers.

Cate and Codie shooting off Roman Candles.
Will taking a break to get a drink of mom's root beer.
Looks like Thomas got ahold of the camera to take a self-portrait!
Time for the 4th of July brother's picture.  And isn't it nice to see how thrilled both boys are!
There's a little more of a smile from Will ~ and TOO MUCH of a smile from Thomas!

Ahhhh ~ Just right!
