The day ended with the boys being made Knights by the Scoutmaster.

Boy Scout Campout ~ Competitions
The boys were able to compete in several fun competitions. One was using a string with a paper bird attached to pick up insects with magnets. It took lots of concentration and teamwork!
Love the smile on Thomas' face when he succeeded in capturing insects!

Thomas leaned in to offer some advice on how to succeed!
Next was the boulder toss. Even though they were hollow, they were HEAVY!
The boys really had to put some muscle into throwing the boulders!
Archery was next, and they both had fun shooting Nerf bow and arrows at a target. And I must say, they both have a pretty good shot!
Boy Scout Campout ~ Crafts
Thomas' Cub Scout troop had a family campout and the theme was Knights of the Round Table. The boys had a great time making costumes to go with the theme.
The boys made swords using paint sticks, cardboard, aluminum foil and "jewels" for decoration.
Will made a "W" shield
Thomas made a shield with a battle scene being played out.
Will had help from this sweet volunteer ~ she taught the kids how to make a belt rope out of yarn.
Lots of concentration was required!
Thomas made a very colorful rope using blue multi-colored yarn.

Easter Lunch 2014
Easter lunch at the Country Club

Paw Paw and Melinda came to Brownwood and went to church and lunch with us. It sure was great to see them for a little bit!
