How does this thing work?

Thomas was really trying to figure out how to work the remote to the TV but he wasn't having much success. His friend Trey was glad to help out! I'm pretty sure they ended up watching the TODAY show, but neither of them seemed to mind!

Waiting for Brother

Thomas, Sam and I were all in the nursery the other night getting things ready. Thomas decided to climb into the baby swing and hang out. I guess he was keeping the seat warm for Will ~ I just hope he doesn't try to climb in once the baby actually gets here! I don't think there is enough room for both of them!

Less than 2 minutes.....

That's how long it takes for Thomas to take ALL of the shirts off of the hangers in his friend Britt's closet. And to be honest it probably didn't even take him that long ~ that's just how long he was "missing". Graham caught Thomas before he was able to leave the scene of the crime!
Here's how it looked after Thomas' 9 1/2 month pregnant mom hung the shirts back up. It only took 15 mintues to undo what Thomas did in less than 2 mintues! (You can't tell in the pictures, but there were shirts hanging on the left AND right side of the closet!)

Will's Profile

Well, here are a couple of pictures of Will (the large bump under my shirt!) He is scheduled to make his arrival on September 4th ~ which is Thomas' 19 month birthday! That means only 2 weeks to go!

Naptime at the Lake

Thomas, Gray and Luke were worn out after an afternoon at the lake so they took a little nap! Don't they look peaceful??

Peach and Watermelon Festival

Well, it looks like we've added to Thomas' redneck status..... Last night we attended the Peach and Watermelon Festival in a little town about 40 minutes from us. Not only did they have peaches and watermelon, they also had a little carnival (not a big deal) and a TRACTOR PULL (big deal)!! After walking around and looking at all of the rides and booths and food vendors, we headed over to the rodeo grounds to watch the tractor pull festivities. ***A little side note: if you've never gone to a tractor pull you might be surprised to learn that the tractors don't actually pull anything nor are they pulled by anything. All the tractors do is smooth out the muddy ground after a souped-up pick-up or drag-race type car pulls a trailer thing that's weighted down.

This is the expression on Thomas' face when we told him what we were about to see:Thomas patiently waited for the pulling to begin. Thomas really got into the spirit of the pulling by cheering on all of his fellow redneck buddies. Notice the bleachers are spotted with mud that has splashed from the pulling ring. And also notice the HUGE crowd that was there! It's a good thing we were able to get a seat!
I call this one "Sunset at the Tractor Pull". Isn't it sweet??
When we were finally able to tear ourselves away from the tractor pull we went back to the carnival part and bought Thomas a flashing light toy. He loved it so much he had to give it a big kiss!
One last bit of advice: If you ever go to a tractor pull DON'T dress your kid in a preppy lime green Polo outfit. Appropriate for church; not appropriate for a tractor pull. He kinda stuck out like a sore thumb ~ but he sure did look cute!

Car Date

Well, I guess you could say Thomas had his first "Car Date" today............. Sorta! I am babysitting Landry and her brother Cobe and the kids wanted to go for a ride in the Escalade. Landry had to drive since Thomas isn't tall enough to reach the gas pedal! I pushed Cobe in the stroller so it wasn't a totally unsupervised "date"!!

Short Naps

The past couple of days Thomas has been really good about playing in his room by himself. He usually will play for about 5 minutes and then he will come looking for me, then go back to his room. Well, the past couple of days he hasn't come to check on me so after about 10 minutes of not seeing him I've gone into his room and found him napping in the floor! The naps don't last long, but it's nice while they last!
