The Lake: A Comparison

Most of the state of Texas is having drought conditions and Lake Brownwood is no exception. I thought I would post some pictures from last summer to show what a difference a year can make.
Memorial Day Weekend 2010: This picture of Will was taken from out on the lake with the docks in the background. As you can see, everything is floating!4th of July Weekend 2011: This is a picture of the Stewardson's dock looking toward the cove. Notice it is completely on dry land with about 20 feet more feet to the water.
These pictures of the 7 grandkids were taken with the boat tied to the dock on the right side ~ as you can see in the previous pictures, that area is now covered in grass. This is Will last summer standing on the ramp at the Moore's dock. He had to wear floaties because it was too deep for him to touch the bottom on the lake. That same ramp in on the right of this picture.
The boys crossing the "bridge" to the Moore's dock.
This is where the boat should be parked!!
Looking back toward the house.
Last summer we were all able to jump off the end of the dock without having to worry about touching the ground. This is Will standing on the ground by the ladder we had to climb up to get out of the water.
This picture is from the edge of the grass on the Stewardson's lawn. You can see all the way across the cove at what little water there is. It is now so shallow that both Thomas and Will could probably walk across the cove. We have really missed spending time at the lake with family and friends this summer. Praying for an end to this drought SOON!
