Well, it looks like we've added to Thomas' redneck status..... Last night we attended the Peach and Watermelon Festival in a little town about 40 minutes from us. Not only did they have peaches and watermelon, they also had a little carnival (not a big deal) and a TRACTOR PULL (big deal)!! After walking around and looking at all of the rides and booths and food vendors, we headed over to the rodeo grounds to watch the tractor pull festivities. ***A little side note: if you've never gone to a tractor pull you might be surprised to learn that the tractors don't actually pull anything nor are they pulled by anything. All the tractors do is smooth out the muddy ground after a souped-up pick-up or drag-race type car pulls a trailer thing that's weighted down.
This is the expression on Thomas' face when we told him what we were about to see:Thomas patiently waited for the pulling to begin. Thomas really got into the spirit of the pulling by cheering on all of his fellow redneck buddies. Notice the bleachers are spotted with mud that has splashed from the pulling ring. And also notice the HUGE crowd that was there! It's a good thing we were able to get a seat!
I call this one "Sunset at the Tractor Pull". Isn't it sweet??
When we were finally able to tear ourselves away from the tractor pull we went back to the carnival part and bought Thomas a flashing light toy. He loved it so much he had to give it a big kiss!
One last bit of advice: If you ever go to a tractor pull DON'T dress your kid in a preppy lime green Polo outfit. Appropriate for church; not appropriate for a tractor pull. He kinda stuck out like a sore thumb ~ but he sure did look cute!

He really did NOT seem overly interested....maybe that was because of his outfit. He is just too preppie to be into a tractor pull to begin with.
You are sooooo funny, Laura! At least y'all had the experience and have the pictures to show him later! The Peach and Watermelon Festival sounds wonderful!
