VBS Carnival

Cate, Thomas and Will went to a Jungle themed VBS last week. They ended the festivities with a carnival. The kid's loved the jumpy house and went up and down the slide over and over!

Time for a treat ~ Thomas wanted a blue sno-cone.

Will wanted "coppen candy" ~ yum!
Cate showing off her piggy mask.Sweet Evan wasn't sure what to think of everything. And he DID NOT think it was funny when his mom put a big bow on his head!
Will perfecting his golf swing.

The Flamingo Ring game was a favorite of Cate and Will.

The Lake: A Comparison

Most of the state of Texas is having drought conditions and Lake Brownwood is no exception. I thought I would post some pictures from last summer to show what a difference a year can make.
Memorial Day Weekend 2010: This picture of Will was taken from out on the lake with the docks in the background. As you can see, everything is floating!4th of July Weekend 2011: This is a picture of the Stewardson's dock looking toward the cove. Notice it is completely on dry land with about 20 feet more feet to the water.
These pictures of the 7 grandkids were taken with the boat tied to the dock on the right side ~ as you can see in the previous pictures, that area is now covered in grass. This is Will last summer standing on the ramp at the Moore's dock. He had to wear floaties because it was too deep for him to touch the bottom on the lake. That same ramp in on the right of this picture.
The boys crossing the "bridge" to the Moore's dock.
This is where the boat should be parked!!
Looking back toward the house.
Last summer we were all able to jump off the end of the dock without having to worry about touching the ground. This is Will standing on the ground by the ladder we had to climb up to get out of the water.
This picture is from the edge of the grass on the Stewardson's lawn. You can see all the way across the cove at what little water there is. It is now so shallow that both Thomas and Will could probably walk across the cove. We have really missed spending time at the lake with family and friends this summer. Praying for an end to this drought SOON!

The Boys and Buffalo

On the drive home from the Metroplex we saw a small herd of buffalo so we had to stop for a closer look!

I asked Will to turn around so I could take his picture.
When he didn't turn around right away Thomas "helped" him ~ not a good idea!
That sun was BRIGHT! Good thing Thomas had his shades on. Poor Will had to squint!
My handsome Thomas and a huge, smelly buffalo!

Bass*Pro*Shop

The boys loved looking at the huge fish in the aquarium.
Will wasn't shy about sitting next to the "shark" ~ Thomas wasn't quite sure what to think at first.
It didn't take long for him to plop down next to his brother ~ who was making his best "shark" face!
Looking at more fish.
Thomas wanted to take one of the boats out for a pretend test drive.
Will made a good co-pilot.
And eventually took over the driver's seat himself!
There were several life-sized stuffed animals to look at. Little did we know there would be REAL buffalo to look at soon!

Gaylord*Texan

We spent the day/night at the Gaylord*Texas hotel and the boys loved it! They have a little water park there and Ben, Amy, Luke and Kirklyn met us there. I didn't get any water park pictures, but here are some of the boys in the hotel lobby!
Thomas was all smiles ~ Will sticking out his tongue. Let's try again.
Thomas still all smiles ~ Will making a crazy face. One more time.....
Two smiles with only one looking at the camera. I'll take it!
Will wanted to pose by the fountain by himself ~
And show me his BIG beet!
There was a young man in the lobby entertaining guests by doing speedy cup stacking. Will was amazed! I haven't seen him sit so still in a LONG time!
Dad and Thomas were off to look at all the fun things in the lobby. Here are a few pictures:

Old Truck

We went to my cousin's wedding and the boy's favorite part was the antique car that was there. They loved playing in it and pretending to drive everywhere!
