1st Trip to the Dentist

Thomas and Will went to the dentist this summer for the first time. They were both EXCELLENT patients!!Will volunteered to go first ~ I think he was actually excited! Cheryl was our hygienist. She used to work for Paw Paw when he was in private practice!
Thomas was keeping a close eye on what was going on with his little brother!

Dr. Clardy was impressed with how good Will's teeth looked. Nice and clean and good spacing for when his permanent teeth come in.
Thomas was a little more skeptical about the whole dentist's office business.
Since Thomas is already 5 they did X-Rays on his teeth. Unfortunately he had a small cavity between two of his back teeth. Looks like we'll be back before too long!


He did a great job opening his mouth for Cheryl to clean his teeth.
Dr. Clardy was also pleased with the looks and spacing of Thomas's teeth.

When Cheryl gave Will his new toothbrush and toothpaste he wasn't quite sure what to say because we don't watch Sponge*Bob at or house. He and Thomas both politely told her, "Thank you for the toothpaste, but we don't like Sponge*Bob!"

VBS in NYC

The boys also attended VBS with a New York City theme. They had a great time and learned lots of fun things!
We picked Cate up at her house every morning and took her to VBS with us. Both boys were always very helpful in getting her out of the car seat.
This is the best picture I could get of Cate and Will ~ my youngest was not in the mood to be photographed!
On the other hand, Thomas and Cate were more than happy to smile and pose!

On Sunday morning the kids did a little performance of what they learned during the week. They did a great job!!

Thomas's Swim Lessons 2011

Thomas absolutely loved swim lessons. His teacher Dana said the biggest problem she had with him was that he didn't want to come up for a breath ~ he wanted to keep swimming! She would have to remind him to breathe!It didn't take him long to figure out how to float.
This kid LOVES jumping in the water. He learned how to do a "pencil" dive. It's where you jump straight in with your body perfectly straight. Thomas thought it was fun because he would touch the bottom every time!Practicing a real dive ~ he did really well.Back to the pencil dive again.......And again!Swimming through the hula hoop forwards........
And backwards...........

And forward one more time!!

Dana finally talked him into resting!

Will's Swim Lessons 2011

Here are some pictures of Will from swim lessons. He did great! His teacher said that she has never seen a child that was so comfortable in the water and willing to do anything she asked!
